Meeting point in Google Maps

To book the session we ask for one specific thing: the Google Maps pin where the photographer will meet you. Not an address, not a voice note, not the name of the complex. Here's why, and how to send it in a minute even if you're not there.

Why a pin and not an address

An address doesn't say where the door is. Most complexes have several entrances, several stairwells and streets running around the development. Arriving on the wrong side means ten or fifteen minutes driving around while the owner waits.

Addresses repeat. Within one municipality there are streets with the same name in different areas, and we have already arrived at the right address in the wrong place.

We almost never meet at the flat. It's usually the car park, the entrance to the complex or a corner where the agent meets us and we go in together. That place has no address; it has a point on the map.

With the exact pin the photographer arrives directly, starts on time and finishes sooner. That's what lets us deliver the material the next day.

How to send it from your phone

Google Maps, iPhone or Android.

  1. Open Google Maps and search for the address, or move the map to the area.
  2. Switch to Satellite view (layers button in the corner of the map): this shows the real entrances, the car park and the buildings.
  3. Press and hold for a second on the exact meeting spot. A red pin appears.
  4. Tap the card that appears at the bottom and press Share.
  5. Choose WhatsApp and send it to us, or copy the link and paste it into the chat.

You don't need to be there: the pin goes wherever you want, from your sofa.

How to send it from a computer

  1. Go to maps.google.com and search for the area.
  2. Switch to Satellite view (bottom left).
  3. Right-click on the exact spot: the first line of the menu is the coordinates. One click copies them.
  4. Paste them into WhatsApp. That's all we need.

What doesn't work for us

  • “It's in Los Cristianos, next to hotel X.”
  • A voice note explaining the way.
  • A photo of the front door.
  • “We'll guide you by phone when you get there.”

We've tried all of that. What works is the pin.

If in doubt

Not sure where the photographer should go in? Put the pin where you park when you go to that property. That spot is always the right one.

Can't get it to work?

Send us whatever you have on WhatsApp and we'll help you place the pin.
